Safe and Considerate Driving (Online)
Safe and Considerate Driving is a course designed for clients being referred for reasons including offences relating to driving without due care and attention. Clients are referred to Safe and Considerate Driving if they are involved in a collision. The course increases clients’ awareness and understanding of:
- the causes and negative consequences of risky and inconsiderate driving;
- the importance of concentration, observation, anticipation and allowing adequate space and time;
- the reasons why their own driving may be unsafe or inconsiderate.
The course is delivered in 2 parts:
Part 1: Consists of a 2.5 hr digital interactive course. To take part, you will need to book and pay for your course online and have access to:
A tablet, laptop or desktop with microphone and camera with reliable internet connection capable of streaming video. Smart phones may be used; however, the course will be far more effective if you have a larger screen.
You will need to be in a private room, alone without disturbances for the duration of the course
Part 2: A practical element of on-road driving under the tuition of a NDORS licenced and qualified instructor.
Please note: Due to COVID-19 you will be notified by your course provider when it is safe to take the practical element
You must attend both parts of the course to complete it.
The total cost for the course is: £185
If you have been offered an online/digital course as an alternative to prosecution, please visit: https://www.ndors.org.uk/howto-online/ for information and to make a booking.
If you do not have access to the above, you will need to contact the referring Police Force on the number included in your offer letter.
You are able to select a course outside of Suffolk but please note that BOTH parts of the course MUST be completed within the same County.
